Urban Decay Liquid Liner - Ecstasy.

'Is she posting a makeup related post?!' Why yes, yes I am. I know it's been a while but I've been so busy with working which has made me lack inspiration. I'm still not even sure what I'm going to write now so bear with me.

What www.urbandecay.com says:
New bottle, new shades—same amazing Liquid Liner! Already one of the most unique and varied color selections available, we added MORE amazing colors to the mix. And if that wasn’t enough, our amazing formula will last all day or all night (even both). Enhance your eyes with a classic swipe of solid black, a subtle shimmering neutral, or a burst of sparkling color. Clear inkwell-style bottle looks sleek, and the handle fits in your hand perfectly ... A steady hand means perfect lines! Formula dries quickly and leaves a beautiful, subtle shine. Liquid Liners can be worn alone, or smudged together to give you unlimited options.

When I bought this, I wasn't so sure I'd get much use out of it but wanted it for the colour. I can't believe it took me this long to buy any of them. (I currently have 3) .

The formula is amazing on them and they dry to a slightly satiny finish. Bar the exception of one they all have some form of glitter/shimmer in them. Since they don't dry matte they don't flake off after 6 or so hours like some liquid liners do.

This is a bright shimmery purple with very fine bright pink glitter in it. If it was an eyeshadow it would be M.A.C Parfait Amour. They're both blue based purples with pink shimmer. They go together so well. I did a FOTD using them both here.

The SA told me when getting these that they could be smudged all over the lid as a sheer shadow. Personally I wouldn't use it on it's own. I have used them like this but with a more neutral shadow over the top (M.A.C Yoghurt). The end result is that you have a shimmery shadow with a hint of another colour and it doesn't crease or budge.

I'm not really sure if it it's a pro or a con, maybe both? But they dry mega fast and once it has dried it'll stay exactly where you put it until you take your makeup off.

The only thing that bothers me, so to speak, is the bottle. You know how when you're running out of a gloss you scrape the applicator around the sides to get every last bit out? I'm not really sure how you're going to get every last bit out of this as there's no way you could do that with the brush and there's no visible 'seal' that you can take out of the top. I've a feeling there might be a fair amount of product wasted but we know Urban Decay like they're customer un-friendly packaging (Primer Potion), so we shall see.

They have a good variety of bright colours, I shall definitely be investing in some more.

Anyone else tried or want to try these? What do we think of them?

Quick Tips: 'Is My GHD Real?'

Another quick tips post I have been meaning to do for ages but I kept forgetting.

Ever since I put up my initial GHD Precious post and the review I've found a lot of people have been landing on my blog because they were Googling to see how you could tell if a GHD was real or not.

Since I have 2 Stylers I'm going to show you how I know mine are real. I'd just like to point out there was a 4 year gap in between purchasing these so they may have changed the hologram in between as I'm not sure how often they do this. Every year maybe?

2005 pair:

2009 pair:

All real GHD Stylers will have this hologram with a serial number underneath which you can register at GHD Hair to check it's real.

I know mine are both real because of the holograms and I bought both pairs from reputable GHD approved salons.

It's common sense really but if you're going to make such an investment it's best to buy straight from the company or a salon, you don't want to spend money on a poor quality Styler. There's a lot of fake GHD Stylers floating around the internet, you only have to search Google. Some 'real' ones are more then half the price of what you'd pay for a genuine Styler so people think they're getting a bargain, when really they aren't.

There is also a counterfeit list on GHD Hair where you can check a website to see if it's a registered GHD online seller. It also has a list of sites selling known fakes.

This is something that I could go on forever about but I won't. I hope this helps anyone that's been landing on my blog by searching for this.

And remember if it's too good to be true, it probably is. ;)

Tag: Happy 101.

I was tagged by Leanne to do this tag, quite a while ago now. :(

Rules: To list 10 things that make you happy, try and do one of them today and pass it on to ten people.

1. Family - Coz you can't choose them right? ;) They make me happy the majority of the time.
2. Friends - I don't really have a lot of close friends, but I prefer it this way. The few I do have mean so much to me though and they always make me happy and smiley. :)
3. Makeup - Kind of the obvious one I was trying not to include but it does make me extremely happy. I love love love it. M.A.C is my favorite but I'm sure you already know that. ;)
4. Sleep - I rarely get any anymore but when I do get it I love it.
5. BlackBerry - I could possibly live without my laptop and just use this instead. It has literally my entire life on it. Sad, I know. ;P
6. Music - I can't go a day without listening to music. When I'm out of the house I always have my iPod with me. What I want to listen to always changes so I usually just shuffle it. (And this evening my iTunes is shuffling all the amazing stuff! ;D)
7. Guitar Hero - If I wasn't any good at makeup this would be the next best thing I'm good at. Too much practice. Getting 100%'s make me extremely happy, especially if it's first time.
8. Sunshine - I don't like sitting out in, as such. But it makes everyone feel much better does it not?
9. Money - I love money. I love getting paid and I love spending. Let's not lie here. ;)
10. Shoes - I have far too many pairs that I only wear a couple of times and then let them just look nice at the end of the bed. I really should stop buying new ones and wear the ones I have ... I just had to post a picture of my newest loves ...

As I can't remember who's actually done this I'll just tag 10 people anyway:

Sinead @ Dainty Dollymix.

Tsu @ Liloo.

Steph @ Topshop Princess.

Megan @ Miss Vogue Cherie.

Beth @ Beauty Beau.

Milly @ Pearls & Poodles.

Cat @ Swirled Pea Cat.

Kathryn @ Plus Size Beauty.

Abbie @ Abbie Babby

Katie @ Pieces Of Katie Jane.

And anyone else that wants to do it. If you do, let me know so I can read it! :D

Work Appropriate Konadicure.

All good things (unfortunately) have to come to an end and after having two weeks off, I had to go back to work yesterday. Yay ... ! I decided I still wanted some kind of Konad on my nails though as I hate my bare nails.

Applied with Konad White Special Polish with M45 plate (tips) and M62 (ring finger), two coats of China Glaze Wireless Holographic topcoat and Seche Vite topcoat.

After I'd taken my first Konad off I wanted to try the full french tips, what a failure and a half that was. I don't think any of them ended up in the right place. So I was kind of put off using any of the tips. At 4 the other morning though I was extremely bored and decided to try them, as you do.

The patterned tips are definitely a lot more forgiving then the M19 plate, how anyone uses those is beyond me. But anyway, I went quite slow with these and made sure I could see exactly where I was placing it on the nail. Now I know these are a little further down then the 'smile line' on some of my nails and I'm not saying it's perfect but from a distance it just looks like a normal french manicure.

I was looking at the other plates I had and saw a design on the M62 plate and thought it would be perfect for my ring finger, it was. I decided to do it on just the one hand as I probably wouldn't have got it straight on the other.

Overall I'm happy with this, it came out exactly as I had planned. What do you think? :)

China Glaze - Atlantis.

A minor note to anyone who is trying to follow at the moment and can't because it's not showing the follow button. Click here and try following there. I'm currently in the process of changing to my own URL and it takes a few days to transition.

Also, I hit 200 followers before the end of my giveaway so I will be providing a small second prize and Skin MD contacted me to try their Sheilding Lotion and are also providing one as a runner up prize, which will be a third.

Anyway, as soon as I saw pictures of this polish I knew I had to track it down. Sparkly holographic goodness. It took a while to make it's way over to the UK but I finally got it.

Applied with two coats and Seche Vite topcoat.

I found it hard to pick up the holographic glitter without an out of focus photo.

China Glaze recently released a new collection, the Speciality collection. Containing 50, yes fifty new glitters.

This is a teal jelly with lots of teal and holographic glitter. Two coats make this almost opaque. You don't get obvious 'smile line' but you can still see the brightness of the tip, it really isn't obvious though. The pictures really don't do this justice though, it's so sparkly and colourful. Reminded me of a lit up Christmas tree!

This went on easily and dried quite quickly. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite over the top but I still found it to be slightly bumpy. For a completely smooth finish you'll probably need to use two coats but I really didn't mind the bumpy-ness so stuck with one.

To remove this you will need remover that has acetone in it. I tried one without it and ended up scrubbing my nails with a tooth brush for nearly half an hour and my nails ended up being extremely sore. It comes off a lot easier with an acetone remover.

Have any of the Speciality glitters caught your eye, or do you already have some? Let me know. :)

Konad Number Two.

Just a quick apology, I know there haven't been many makeup related posts recently. I've just felt so uninspired, so much so I've not even been wearing any. I'm going to try and do a FOTD tomorrow, if I can remember how to apply makeup.

Applied with 2 coats of GOSH Holographic (549), Konad Black Pearl Special Polish with M57 plate and Seche Vite topcoat.

If you want to see GOSH Holographic in it's full glory click the link above. I took these photos in overcast so you can't see any of the shiny goodness.

Please also excuse the smudging, my Seche Vite is on it's last legs. :(

I'm still undecided about whether I like this or not, even though I'm no longer wearing it. It was much easier to apply then the zebra print as it's not so noticeable if don't stamp them all straight. I also found if I missed a bit I could paint half the stamp and go over it again and you could hardly tell the difference. I'm sure this would look much better over an orange or gold base as this kind of reminded me of cow print. Which I'm not sure I really liked.

What do you think of this combination? Have you found other colour combinations that work better for this particular design?

Also thanks to everyone that's blogged/tweeted and entered my giveaway. If you haven't already, link's in the sidebar. :)

My First Ever Konadicure.

It's finally here! If you follow me on Twitter you will know due to the snow (which is not budging!) I was not able to get any birthday cards or a massive delivery I'd been waiting since New Years Eve for. Well it all finally got here today! I'm waiting for a couple extra bits that got dispatched separately, once I have everything I will haul it.

The main reason for my order was that I really wanted a Konad set. I've been admiring them for ages but have been terrible at nail art in the past due to the fact I'm useless with my left hand for intricate things like that.

Like I said, I will blog more on the set I got at a later date. For now, onto the good stuff!

2 coats of China Glaze IDK, Konad Black Pearl Special Polish with M57 plate and Seche Vite top coat.

I did my left hand first, so I think my right hand looks that little bit neater. Now although this is my first attempt it was still a quick process. I expect once I get used to it I'll be even quicker at it but I kept having this weird dreams that I was doing it too slow and that the polish had dried out before I got the design onto my nail. I still need to work on my thumbs. The image designs are the exact width of my thumb nail so they have to be placed in exactly the right place to cover the whole nail. I'm sure that will come naturally!

What also helped was Leanne's gigantic Konad Q&A. If you haven't checked it out you should do! It was really helpful.

And just for reference I cleaned the image plate and stamper after every use by wiping it over a cotton pad with nail varnish remover on it. The scraper was cleaned when it needed it.

What do we think of this? I'm really pleased with this! :D I urge anyone to try it. If anyone has any plate recommendations please let me know!

Also a quick thank you to all my new followers and if you haven't already don't forget to enter my giveaway.

Photo Tag.

Last weekend Lydia tagged me to do this photo tag and I'm glad I'm doing this on my new laptop and not my old one as I'm sure I would have got something really embarrassing.

Here are the rules:
1. Open your 1st Photo folder.
2. Scroll to the 10th photo.
3. Post the photo & the story behind it.
4. Tag 5 or more people.

This is actually a pretty old picture, 18 September 2007, if you want to be pedantic. ;P It was taken at about 5 in the morning, after not sleeping all night. What's new for me, eh? Typical MySpace-esque photo. This was probably about half way through the lightening process I had to go through to get my hair blonde. (Which if you're interested in seeing the end result, you can click here. Yes it's a MySpace picture also!) I'd dyed it black countless times before I decided I wanted to start dying it lighter and it was an absolute nightmare to get out. Which is why it looks darker at the ends. (I'm thinking of going lighter again, not blonde but I can't decide!) I especially hate two things about the picture though. Hello ORANGE! This is why I will never ever ever use unnatural lighting. It just makes things look so wrong. And the foundation lips. I'm sorry beauty bloggers. ;) I do however love the Dior Blackout on my lashes and the fact I managed to do that eye look with just an eyeliner.

I tag:

Vampiress Doll.

And anyone else that wants to do it! If you do, let me know so I can have a look.

Feline Face Of The Day / 21st!

Happy birthday to me.
Happy birthday to me.
Happy 21st birthday to meeeee.
Happy birthday to me. :D

Weeeee. I'm trying to be as happy as I can but because of the Royal Fail I am not. The snow wasn't even that bad this morning. The lazy little delivery person just wanted a frigging lie in. ¬_¬

Anyways, so recently I've been saving M.A.C face charts to my computer, I never used to bother with these but they give me inspiration when I have no idea what I want to do. So today I decided to go with the Feline face chart from the new Love Lace collection. As I'm pretty sure I'm not getting anything from this, I used what I had.

Apologies for the photos, I seem to have lost ability to take good ones today! It looks pretty much identical to the face chart and I'm glad I executed this so well.

M.A.C In Store Haul.

This is so bad, this is the M.A.C haul I got before Christmas. I had a bit of a problem with the fact they accidently charged me for the lipstick I should have got free because I B2M'ed 6 empties. So I of course wanted to wait for them to sort it out, which they did, eventually. So I've been meaning to post this but I've been so busy with work, but here it is ...

Not too much this time, just things I've been wanting from the permanent line for ages.

Reviews will follow as usual.

I am taking a few days off (again) after this though as I've been struck down with the flu/cold/throat infection thing that's going around at the moment and it's making me feel ridiculously lethargic. :( And it's my 21st on Tuesday so I'm trying to rest up for that. When I do come back though I shall be holding my 100 follower giveaway. At long last. :D Yay!

Hope you're all having a good start to your new year. :)
