Fired Up FOTD.

I feel like I'm cheating you here slightly but never mind!

I'm sure you've seen my new Twitter picture. Well it wasn't taken for that, it was originally meant for this but I couldn't wait to change it on there so yeah. ;) Pretend you haven't already seen it.

I didn't sleep on Wednesday night so I decided to go with something that meant as little eye makeup as possible.

I love red lips. I already posted about a Revlon red here. I have 3 red lippies in total. This Revlon, True Red Colorburst and M.A.C's Russian Red. Out of all of them I prefer the Revlon finishes the most. They have the right balance of 'slip' and matte to them. I find Russian Red notoriously hard to apply. I have to say True Red is my absolute favourite, I find the colour a little on the cooler side and so it's slightly deeper.

Fire & Ice is still wonderful though and applies like a dream.

Face:
Illamasqua Matte Primer.
M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer - NW15.
M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid - NW15.
M.A.C Eyebrow Pencil - Stud.
Eyeko Cream - Extra Glow (highlight). (LE)
M.A.C Magically Cool Liquid Powder - Truth & Light (highlight). (LE)
M.A.C Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.

Eyes:
M.A.C Fast Response Eye Cream.
Urban Decay Primer Potion.
M.A.C Mineralize Eye Duo - Family Silver.
Illamasqua Precision Ink - Abyss.
M.A.C Zoom Lash.

Lips:
Lush Honey Trap Lip Balm.
Too Faced Lip Insurance.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Fire & Ice.

This was the first time I braved in wearing bright red lips outside of the house. I got many, many compliments so that's always good.

What do you think? Do you like red lips? Or do you prefer more coral/deeper reds? Let me know your opinions on them!

Someday Summary - Thursday.

I have a fringe! Last week, after work I had a crazy impulse to force my dad into cutting me in a fringe. It was a sort of 'now or never' moment. If I didn't do it then, I wouldn't have done it. I've wanted one for ages but I was too scared to go to a hairdressers. So between my dad and I we managed to cut in a choppy, slightly slanted fringe and you know what? I love it! I feel like a new person and I feel so much younger.
Red lipstick. Today I plan on venturing out for the first time in public with red lips. I feel so uncomfortable wearing bold lips but I teamed it with a pin-up look which I have as a FOTD in a few days. I feel like a doll when I wear red lippie.
I finally worked out how to make GIFs. I do have Photoshop but I have no idea how to use it. I came across www.gickr.com which pretty much makes them for you. Just upload the photos and download the finished GIF.
Is Spring here? The weather seems a ton better then recent weeks. I could get used to this sunshine.
Happiness. Completely genuine. I love feeling happy with myself for the first time in ever.
3 Little lovelies; Listening to - Avril Lavigne - What The Hell. I didn't like this at first but I can't stop singing it now.
Reading - Top To Toe. A blog from a friend of mine who's just started, with a mixture of posts.
Looking forward to - Getting 2 new tattoos in a few weeks. I've been booked in since October. :)

What have you been up to and enjoying lately?

TBS - Watermelon Body Lotion.

I'm sure you all know by now, I'm always late to things like this, The Body Shop released a whole bunch of retro products. According to the SA in my local branch, they're going to be keeping whichever sells most. So I hope the fact I stocked up on 3 of these a few weeks ago, pushes watermelon further ahead. ;)

You can view what the 'Originals' are that they've re-released here.

I love anything melon. Scented, flavoured, I have to buy it so it was a definite that I'd pick this up.

What www.thebodyshop.co.uk says:
A deliciously fruity body lotion to moisturise the skin, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and fragrant. This lotion leaves skin feeling soft and fragranced with the scent of watermelon.

Now before I start this, let me just say I'm a long time hater of TBS Body Butters. I know people swear by them and I own a few, gathering dust in the bathroom I do believe. But I hate how thick they are and they don't sink into the skin so I just end up feeling like I need another shower.

This is super lightweight pale pink lotion. Which sinks easily into the skin leaving it really smooth. I love the fact it doesn't take a lot of work for this to be absorbed. I dislike waiting around for lotions like that.

The scent is delicious, mouthwatering, mmm. I'm sniffing it as I type. It's refreshing and fruity with a slight hint of sweetness to it but not at all overpowering. Definitely your standard watermelon scent but I do believe it's quite difficult to find body products that are melon scented. May just be me and not looking hard enough!

On the site all the reviews people have made on it have an overall score of 5/5 and I completely agree.

I'd definitely recommend this. It's £3.99 for a 250ml bottle. If you're going past a TBS, go in and have a whiff! I bet you'll love it and if you don't well ... I'll eat my non existent hat.

Which of the Originals have you tried? Have you picked this up? What do you think to watermelon scents?

China Glaze - Towel Boy Toy.

I've been sitting for a little while, debating whether to make this post or not. I took the photos with my new HTC. Now I have no complaints other than the neon plays games with it.

Maybe it's just me but (bar my index in the first) the camera makes the nails look blurry. Just the nails though?! :/ Weird but enough about that. I wasn't going to post this yet, but I thought I better snap some photos before I get serious tip wear.

Last year China Glaze released a collection called Poolside. It was a line up of six bright neons. Of which I have half.

This is the first one I've posted about, though Kiwi Cool-Ada cheekily got into a WW.

This is the first time I've worn it since I've got it. Lord knows why, it is a beauty.

I'd always heard neons were notoriously hard to work with. These aren't to difficult. I laid down a very very thin first coat, over Seche Base (you could also use a white undercoat, I hear that's a good option). Then topped it with two regular coats and a topping of Seche to make it super glossy.

Towel Boy Toy is a bright neon blue with soft brighter blue shimmer. It's the odd one of the collection as all the others are cremes but I like the way the shimmer lifts it from being just a regular flat bright blue. Very evident under the flash and in bright lights, not so much regularly.

Are you a fan of bright blues or neons? Did you get any of the Poolsides? Even if it was forever ago. ;)

And I just realised my last three posts were all nails. Should really get some makeup in there somewhere ... Sorry about that!

First Attempt At Free Handed Nail Art.

I was a little bored a few nights ago, I mean what else is there to do at 1AM? So I decided to grab a few nail polishes and just do something, anything.

It's not quite up to all you other nail bloggers standards but I tried. I quite like it actually.

I had planned on doing just a third of the nail and black striping it but black was the obvious choice.

Base colour - Revlon's All Fired Up.
Section colour - Illamasqua's Prisim.
Stripe colour - China Glaze's Frostbite.

I just used a really crappy striper nail art brush I got from Sally's. To be honest, it came out better than expected and the right hand was pretty good also which I was not expecting at all!

What do we think? I'm interested to hear from all you nail art girls! Please be nice. :)

Illamasqua Throb.

This year for Valentine's Day, Illamasqua have released a mini collection full of some gorgeous blood reds and amazing promo pictures. The collection is due to be released on Monday (17th).

Wanna take a look?

Feel your pulse quicken, your heart throbbing in your chest. These are Illamasqua’s latest offerings at the altar of beauty, guaranteed to make you gasp with pleasure.

Bite ...
Awaken your mouth’s erotic sensuality with the seductive red of Succubus Intense Lipgloss or enjoy the power of being an unashamedly brazen femme fatale with blood red Sangers Lipstick.

... and Scratch
Throb is a passionate red Nail Varnish, the colour of blood spilled by desperate, rejected lovers. Load is a rich, cream coating for the nails and Scorn’s midnight black matt finish is filled with contempt for the love of convention.

I was just going back to sleep this morning when I heard my Dad come upstairs and a package flinging it's self towards me. Why does he always do that?!

I got an email a few days ago telling me to 'keep an eye on the post'.

I ripped it open in excitement to find 'Load' included inside.

Excuse the quick swatch and horrible cuticles. I can't believe I'm even putting this up. I hate short nails on myself.

Illamasqua describe this as a 'rich, cream coating for the nails'. It's definitely that. As with all their polishes, it's opaque in two coats. Very reminiscent of the cream that goes along with their packaging, quite similar to the inside of the boxes.

Honestly not a colour I would have picked out myself as I don't do any form of neutral colours but this is definitely a new take on a nude nail, for me.

Do you like the look of the new products or will you be skipping? I so want that Intense Gloss! Looks wonderful in the promo.

A Belated Christmas Post.

I know everyone's already finished posting their Christmas goodies but I was saving this one. For what I'm not quite sure but anyway.

A little while I go I actually made a post about Paul's Boutiques handbags. I'm probably the only 22 year old in the world, who up till now hasn't owned a handbag unless it was absolutely necessary. I'm extremely fussy you see.

As I mentioned in that post, I cannot justify spending 4 figures on a bag. Yes, it lasts a lifetime but I get bored easily. Hence the new blog layout. Not sure if I quite like it yet, opinions?

Anyway, going off track here. I by chance and pure boredom, browsed the PB site a little before Christmas and fell in love with my perfect bag.

I had to get a purse too! I like matchy matchy.

I opted for the Lizzie Rouched. Did want the white one but it wasn't in stock. :(

I love the design and the bright pink inside!

Then I opted for the Diamant√© Molly which was LE for Christmas. It kept selling out and I was afraid I wasn't going to get it but it came back into stock the day I got paid. Fate? I think so!

I decided to use the charm as a key chain coz I didn't like the way it rattled around.

I absolutely love it. I know a few people who don't really like PB's bags. I'm not a fan of the ones with the big logos on. I see a lot of chavs with those and it puts me off.

It is a little jazzy for everyday so I really should get something else which is more durable. Anything you've been eyeing up recently? Feel free to link me. :)

Is this something you'd buy or not? Let me know your thoughts!

An Overview Of My Makeup Routine - Video.

One of the most FAQ I get is 'how do you do your makeup?' I figured before I started cracking out the tutorials, with any luck, I'd do an overview of my entire routine.

So I went with my typical black dramatic eyes and nude lips.

Took me about 40-50 minutes to do my entire face. Managed to squeeze it into this little video.

I really hope none of my followers are in Germany because YouTube have blocked it there because of the music. ¬_¬

Anyway. Really hope you enjoy it, I know it's long but hopefully some of you will take something away from it. And yeap, I got a ton of fallout but I'm not used to doing eyeshadow like that. I normally tilt my head back and use a hand held mirror, so just ignore that. ;)

And please keep your hate to yourself, I know my skin looks horrible right now. Combination of not sleeping and something giving me an allergic reaction but what can I do, eh?

Just incase you some how missed them, here's a list of products used.

Someday Summary - Sunday.

I got a really good response on my first video, which I wasn't expecting to be honest. I definetly want to make more. I just have no idea what on yet. If you have any ideas please feel free to let me know. I think I have an idea for something quick, this week but we shall see.
Confidence. On the contrary, I've never had much in myself. I'm getting better of late though so that makes me happy. :)
Thank you to everyone that sent me birthday wishes via Twitter. The day didn't turn out anything like I planned but it's in the past now. Moving forward.
I got a HTC Desire HD last week and I am in love with it. I'm just at a loss with apps as I never used any for my BlackBerry. If you know of any good Droid apps, please let me know. Also any on Apple, because I can find the Android equivalent. Loving Angry Birds, Teeter and Jewels at the moment. And FxCamera for vintage photos and polaroids (see above).
The Body Shop's Watermelon Body Lotion. HOLYCRAP. I love anything watermelon scented and it's just uh-mazing. I definitely recommend going in and having a little sniff. It is beautiful.
I've already failed at 2 of my resolutions for this year. I haven't cut down on caffeine intake, I only get it through Coca Cola/Pepsi and I really don't need that extra sugar. And I haven't fixed my sleeping pattern. I'm typing this at 05:53AM, I have work in a few hours. That's not going to be fun. I did however buy a skirt, I just have to wear it now ...
3 little lovelies Listening to - Lady GaGa - Alejandro (Kim Fai Remix).
 Reading - Lick My Cupcakes.
 Loving - Unlimited texts.
