Rainbow Lucky Charms

Someday Summary - Saturday.

♡ Blogging has been a bit few and far between for the last fortnight. I just don't want it to feel like a chore, this isn't my job. I'll get inspiration back, soon I hope.
I have nails! I got my friend to put gels on for me, so now I have nice long perfect nails. Brilliant for swatching, so expect lots of nail posts soon.
♡ Quick delivery from America. I ordered a pair of boots last Saturday, they were due to be delivered yesterday but the stupid DHL man didn't listen so now I can't get them till Tuesday (damn bank holidays). They are lush, I can't wait to show you!
♡ Born This Way (album). It's no secret that I'm a big GaGa fan. I resisted listening to any previews before I bought the album. And my word, it was worth it. I can't stop listening to it.
♡ I forgot how much I loved baths. I don't know why but I don't like the bath at my new house but I caved and had one anyway. I do love a nice long soak in the bath and plan to have another after this.
♡ Strawberry and Kiwi Fanta. Everyone's been going on about this and now I know why! Such a wonderful Summery drink.
♡ The closest thing to Starbucks I have in the town I live in is a Caffรจ Nero. I picked up a Mint Choc Frap in passing the other day, it was more amazing than any Starbucks Frap. Go get yourself one! So good.
♡ 3 Little Lovelies; Listening to - Marry The Night - Lady GaGa.
♡ Looking forward to - Being off work for a week after next Friday.
♡ Eating - Pasta salads.

Lush Blackberry Bath Ballistic.

When I went on hiatus last May (I believe it was), I bought a massive bunch of Lush. I bought every single Ballistic and a lot of other stuff.

I'm still working my way through it.

Today we have the Blackberry Bath Bomb Ballistic.

I like my baths steaming, can you tell?

What www.lush.com says:
With bergamot, frankincense and berries for uplifting, grounding and fruity feelings. When you're feeling off colour and out of sorts, drop this Ballistic of purply goodness into the bath. In no time at all, the frisky scent of blackcurrant will tug at the corners of your mouth, pulling them towards your ears. Bergamot relieves tension and frankincense will wrap itself around you like a cosy blanket. All your cares will dissolve into a warming purple haze.

In a word, this was amazing.

On first sniff, it isn't super scented and it didn't smell overly blackberry-ish.

But I poured myself a nice hot bath and popped it in, to which I was greeted with a lovely deep purple coloured water. Not that it makes a difference overall but I really liked the nice touch of different coloured water! I'm easily pleased, what can I say.

The scent became more apparent when it was in the bath but it wasn't overpowering. Just nice.

It also contains bergamot and frankincense oil. It feels super soft and glides over the skin, making it really smooth and lovely.

I found this really soothing and relaxing. I almost fell asleep in the bath and I insisted on staying in there till I was wrinkled up like a prune!

Would I recommend it? Of course.

It's one of the more expensive Ballistics at £2.75 but it's really big and I urge you to try it once!

Blog Clean Up.

I can never stick with something for too long, I get bored far too easily.

Since I can't sleep I decided to jazz things up a bit with a little help from Photoshop, I have a new banner and follow button and a new background.

They all fit nicely together and I think it looks a lot cleaner. What do you think?

Sorry for the lack of posts. Went away at the weekend and forgot to take my dongle that I use when I'm there so I couldn't blog like planned.

Lots of posts coming up though! :)

Someday Summary - Saturday.

Daddy's out of hospital and Blogger's fixed itself which means back to normal blogging. Yay!

♡ Ever get those days where every photo just comes out terrible (even the above)? I had a planned on doing a FOTD but it came out pretty rubbish and the photos were even worse so I skipped that.
♡ Catching up with Gossip Girl. When S2 was airing I stopped watching by accident after 8 or so episodes. So I started at the beginning and have been catching up for the last few days. Love it.
A lot of people have been asking to see my new vanity. I will do a video and a post on it once I've finished everything. There's still a few more bits I need to fill it up with so once that's done, you can see.
♡ My camera's getting worse. The screen is getting dirty, from the inside? Either way I'm saving for a new one even if I am terrible at saving.
♡ Eurovision. I think everyone on Twitter is watching it. Or at least everyone on my timeline. I only watched it for Jedward and Blue. The latter were terrible. Loved the former. ;)
♡ Do you have a Tumblr? If you do, why aren't you following me? It's my favourite thing. Full of pretty pictures, inspirational quotes and yummy foods I could never even dream of creating. It's really easy to use. I use mine as a sort of scrapbook for all the images I love. Day to day goings on and conversations with friends that I want to remember. :)
♡ 3 Little lovelies; ♡ Listening to Roman's Revenge - Nicki Minaj & Eminem.
♡ Loving - Work bonuses, even if it will get taxed away.
♡ Enjoying - Rare lie ins.

Collection 2000 Glam Crystals - Le Freak & Shake It Up!

It's no secret that I love glitter. The clue's in the blog name.

It's also no secret, I'm a slight makeup snob and believe for the most part, you pay for what you get so I prefer buying from more expensive brands. But ever since Liloo swatched the entire Glam Crystals collection, I have been seriously lemming.

I picked up 2 when I was in Bristol last month as they were on offer.

What www.collection2000.co.uk says:
- Tiny glitter particles suspended in a clear, quick drying gel.
- Includes precision brush for easy application.
- Wear over eye shadow or alone with mascara.
Use as an eye liner or layer up over the eyelid and wear as eye shadow for all over sparkle.

Le Freak is a bright blue with a slight hint of turquoise to it. It looks like it's just bright blue glitter but when the light hits it you can also see some yellow and deeper blue in there.
Shake It Up! is a greyed purple with holo glitter scattered through it.

Le Freak - one swipe, layered, one swipe over Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss.
Shake It Up! - one swipe, layered, one swipe over Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss.

On first swipe they look a bit rubbish, let's be honest. But if you layer it with 2 or 3, like the middle swatch, they become super pigmented and really glittery.

I also tried them over a black liner as I found it helped show the coloured glitter in Le Freak more than when it's on it's own.

So do they live up to Liloo's hype?

Yes! I am now in love with these and at a mere £2.99, you honestly can't go wrong.

I wore Le Freak on it's own with mascara when I went to see The Blackout last month. Everyone in that venue was literally dripping with sweat (gross I know!) but when I got out this liner was still on my eyes and still pretty perfect.

Do I recommend? Of course! I would highly suggest these over Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liners. Now I love UD but check out the appalling swatches here.

A little maths ...
Urban Decay - 7.5g for £13.
Glam Crystals - 6g for £2.99.

Would you rather pay £13 for poor pigmentation or £2.99 for pigment that packs a punch and sparkles the whole night?

Psychedelic Rock Star.

After a nice long lie in today (in preparation for 6 days of work in a row), I managed to sit down at my new vanity (post soon) and do my makeup properly.

I knew yesterday I wanted to do purple. Anyone else plan that far in advance? No? Just me then.

So here's what I came up with.

I've ran out of my usual setting powder so set with a bit of Studio Fix Powder. Ignore the unblended bit between my brows. Only just noticed that!

Illamasqua Matte Primer.
M.A.C Studio Fix Concealer - NW15.
M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid - NW15.
M.A.C Studio Fix Powder - NW15.
M.A.C Impeccable Brow Pencil - Taupe.
First Light Mineralize Blush - Mistral.

Urban Decay Primer Potion.
M.A.C Eyeshadow - Phloof! (brow, inner corner highlight), Crystal (above crease), Parfait Amour (all over lid).
Urban Decay Eyeshadow - Psychedelic Sister (crease), Rock Star (outer V).
Illamasqua Precision Ink - Abyss (upper lashline).
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil - Ransom (lower lashline).
M.A.C Powerpoint Eye Pencil - Engraved (waterline).
Sally's Eyelashes - 116.
Duo Lash Adhesive - Dark.

Too Faced Lip Insurance.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Pink Pop.

I got perfect eyebrows today. So happy. The eyes came out exactly as planned and I may have used a bit too much blush but I love the look.

Monthly Favourites - April.

Usually I make this my first post of the month but I was a little late on getting photos.

♥ Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel.
I featured a shower gel from Lush last month but for the last few weeks I've been rekindling my love for Snow Fairy. This is my absolute favourite scent so I like to keep it all year round. Hence why I buy the biggest bottle and it lasts until I can get it again the following year. Such a yummy candy scent. Seems to have a love/hate relationship with most people but I definitely love this.

♥ M.A.C Lipstick - Snob.
Bit of a forgotten favourite and also one of my oldest (and most battered) lippies. This lipstick made me fall in love with the Satin finish. It goes on smooth and super pigmented in one stroke and simmers down to a semi non drying matte finish, so lasts for hours and hours. M.A.C describe this as a ladylike mauve, it definitely has a more lilac hue when on the lips.

♥ Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil - Honey.
I kind of bought this on a whim when it was the Boots 3-for-2 ages ago. I have to say though, the colour is insane. It is beautiful, I never liked golds really until I had this. Out of all the 24/7 liners I own, this is the softest and most buttery texture with an amazing colour payoff. Something I've just been wearing along my top lashline when I've not wanted to bother with too much eye makeup.

♥ Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow - Honey.
Again, bought this in the Boots 3-for-2 but I knew I was going to use it because this gold shade looks beautiful teamed with Urban Decay's Electric liner/shadow. I have yet to photograph an FOTD with it but I shall do that soon. A little lighter than it's sister pencil but equally as smooth and pigmented. I've been teaming the two together for the last week or so, shown here. Definitely a Summer shade.

Obligatory swatches. Snob, Honey 24/7 Pencil and Deluxe Eyeshadow:

M.A.C Viva Glam GaGa 2.

Whilst I was in Bristol last month I had the chance to check out VGG2 in person, I waited until I could as I wasn't sure if it would be lean to brown on me, being so pale.

Here's the review, since a few of you asked for it I figured I'd do it as soon as I could!

What www.maccosmetics.com says:

No Bad Romance here. We're unveiling a hot new shade inspired by Lady Gaga and her passions, in both Lipstick and Lipglass. And by now you know every cent from the sale of M∙A∙C VIVA GLAM goes toward the M∙A∙C AIDS Fund. Limited edition for a full 12 months.

The VIVA GLAM and Lady Gaga collaboration takes off again with a shade as enigmatic as the Diva’s star persona. A light warm beige with an Amplified finish, the look is as cool as only she can be. For each sale of MAC Viva Glam Lipstick and Lipglass, the full RRP (less VAT) from the sale of this lipstick goes toward helping women, men and kids everywhere affected by HIV and Aids.

Swatch taken in overcast (it's a little lighter in person):

So what do I think of this? Without being too bias considering I love the GaGa. I love it, not as much as VGG1 but I still.

It's a lighter version of my lips so it gives me that nude lip without looking to concealer likw.

I'm a big fan of Amplified finishes, they have a really good pigmentation pay off. You can apply just a light coat for a sheer wash or layer it on a bit more for full on impact. Sometimes it does settle in the lines a little (pictured above) but it really isn't that noticeable.

I'm glad I picked this up as it goes really well with just foundation and lots of lashes for that barely there look. Or you can use it to keep lips toned down whilst wearing a heavy eye.

Not only that but considering all the proceeds go to the AIDS fund, I've donated to charity and got something pretty for my penny. So if you're not sure about picking it up, do so anyway! At least you've done something good in return.

Have you got Viva Glam GaGa 2? What do you think of it?

I think the Lipglass is next on my shopping list ...
