You Have Your Own Destiny & Your Own Life Ahead Of You.

I've been such a terrible blogger, I know but what can I do? I'm not going to list excuses but I have a post for you right now.

At the moment I can't stop listening to Lady GaGa's intro to the HBO Monster Ball Tour.

Tonight I want you to forget all of your insecurities
I want you to reject anyone or anything that's ever made you feel like you don't belong
Or don't fit in, or made you feel like you're not good enough, or pretty enough
Or thin enough, or can't sing well enough, or dance well enough
Or write a song well enough
You just remember that you're a God damn superstar and you were born this way.

Such a good good intro. I love it. Go take a listen. :) Only if you're a fan of course.

I'm currently at my Dad's house for a little while. Feels weird being back in my old room but it not being anything like I left it. No more metallic silver walls. No more mess. Just a few empty boxes and a mattress.

But I get to spend some time with my old boys (above) that I don't see nearly often enough any more.

But it also means slow dongle internet. Half the time it's like dial up.

I had the pleasure of eating my first red velvet cupcake last week. Can you believe I've never had one? It seems most of them use carmine/E120 (crushed bugs blood) but I got some from Tesco that used natural red.

So overall they weren't super red but they didn't have cream cheese frosting either. It was vanilla. It was very nice but I've had better. ;)

I got a Kindle, I got a Kindle! I got paid last week and I was thinking about getting one of these so I spoke to a couple of friends of mine and they kept plugging how easy it was to use.

Officially in love. I like my gadgets and this my favourite thing ever! I've already finished off a book in a week.

The Single Girl's To Do List by Lindsey Kelk. A very interesting and inspiring read. Definitely recommend.

But if any of you have been thinking about getting one, I really can't rate it highly enough. I am hooked and have so many books in my wishlist on Amazon now.

If I download them all at once my bank will kill me!

I hope you're all having a nice weekend, the weather is kind of lush. Even though I've had to work but I've got time to sit down with a strawberry cider and enjoy it through the window. Much too hot for me outside right now.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway here if you haven't already. Just over a week left to go so good luck with that.

Partial To Neons.

Ordinarily I would say I love neons for summer but the recent weather leaves a lot to be desired.

Considering it's the longest day tomorrow, it can only go down hill from here.

Yesterday as I'd skipped sleeping on Saturday night but had to work all day, I decided on no eye makeup and a statement lip.

I had planned on a darker colour but I forgot I hadn't properly showcased Candy Yum-Yum from the Quite Cute collection back in April.

This was the most sought after lipstick from the collection and I thought I wouldn't get it. But my best friend managed to pick it up for me. Isn't he amazing?

I had to up the vibrancy on my lips on my computer but I can promise you it looked just like this in person. My camera hates picking up neons!

Face:
Illamasqua Matte Primer.
M.A.C Studio Fix Concealer - NW15.
M.A.C Studio Tint - Light.
Benefit Posie Tint.
Benefit High Beam.
M.A.C Impeccable Brow Pencil - Taupe.

Eyes:
M.A.C - Zoom Lash.

Lips:
M.A.C Lipstick - Candy Yum-Yum*.

I had so many compliments from people I know and random people too. A lot of them were 'how can you wear it? I never could!' Easy! Just slick it on, hold your head up high and know you look good.

Confidence is key when wearing such a colour, something I usually severely lack but when my makeup looks good, I feel good.

That's all there is to it.

I also had neon nails about a week ago. I popped a coat of China Glaze White On White on my nails and teamed it with one of last years Poolside neons. I added 2 coats of Pool Party* on top for a delightful retina searing neon.

This picture does it no justice whatsoever but my phone picks up neons a little better.

Nails Inc & Fabulous.

I'm sure you've all seen the advert or read a blog or two informing you of the new Nails Inc. offer.

Starting tomorrow in Fabulous (NOTW magazine) you have the chance to get 2 Nails Inc. polishes for the small price of the newspaper.

Atomic and OMP! (Oh My Pink!) Both bright summery colours.

All you have to do is cut out and collect three differently numbered tokens that they're printing over the next four weeks, starting tomorrow and take them along to any participating Tesco stores between July 3-11 to pick up your freebies!

Will you be picking them up?

With Your Faith, You'll Trigger A Landslide.

When I made my first 'life' post, I made a poll and asked you guys to vote on it.

It's closed now, so how were the results?

When I put it up I had about 10 votes on the latter and none on just makeup.

It was really weird because I honestly didn't expect such a landslide of a vote.

So thank you if you voted, I really appreciate it.

I guess that's settled now. My blog is going in a bit of a different direction. But change is always good. It doesn't do to stay the same.

Now if you're one of the 11 people that voted for just makeup, you can either stick around and just ignore the other posts. Or you can unfollow, which is what I expect since I've had a fair few lately. But feel free to let me know why you don't wish to see the other posts. You can do it anon here if you'd like.

And if you voted on personal and beauty, then I thank you for reading my mind. It's really what I wanted to do.

I've tried to balance it out with one beauty, one life, one beauty etc.

I'll be blogging more frequently but it won't always be reviews.

I hope you guys stick around. I appreciate all those that do. Thank you! :)

The More I Try, The Less It's Working.

Thank you all so much for entering my giveaway. I haven't published any comments yet because some people feel intimidated if there's lots of entries. If you haven't entered yet, don't forget to. :P

Also many thanks if you've voted on my poll in the sidebar. If you haven't please do take a second to leave your opinion.

I got a kitten a week ago. Ain't she a beauty? She's 8 weeks old and we've called her Lucy. :) She's so tiny. When she lies on my back when I'm in bed it just feels like a feather.

I'm definitely on my way to becoming a crazy cat lady. I've got quite the collection now. 3 of my own and a family cat.

At the start of the week I also broke out my Konad set. I haven't used it in forever because I had no idea where it was. Since I still have very few plates and I couldn't decide, I went with two designs.

Using the M57 plate and Konad Special Black Pearl Polish, I stamped the fishnet over Barry M Bright Pink, just on my ring finger. Then topped Barry M's Blueberry Ice Cream with the zebra print.

What are your favourite Konad plates? I definitely need to invest in some more.

I've never been a coffee drinker or a tea drinker for that matter. But a few days ago I headed to town and was in need of a caffeine boost. So I decided a White Chocolate Mocha would suffice for breakfast.

Ooooh I loved it! It's made me want to go back for the Caramelatte. Now, I won't be taking up drinking freeze dried, DIY at home type coffee as I still don't like it straight up. But this was wonderful! I shall definitely be sampling a few others on the menu.

O.P.I - Significant Other Color.

I finally have nails to swatch on. Yay!

First up for you, I have one of my all time favourite sheers.

This is 3 coats and the 'smile line' wasn't all that visible unless in bright lighting but I think this would also work well as a layering polish.

Significant Other Color is a pink with just a touch of lilac to it. With an added lime green yellow duochrome that can also pull yellow when in duller lighting.

It's been compared to Adina by Zoya. Now while I do think the colours are somewhat similiar, Significant Other Color is a lighter more pink based polish. But they both have the same kind of duochrome - a bright yellowy green.

I love this polish. It spreads over the nail itself for the most part so leaves little work.

It is such a joy to wear, I simply love it and I'm not the biggest fan of 'barely there' colours.

I suggest you all go and get this! Seriously.

What do you think of duochrome polishes? Are you a fan?

Paris Called, Je Ne Veux Pas Mourir Tou†e Seule.

It's just gone 5AM and I start work in a little under 5 hours. Instead of sleeping, I find myself sat with a pint of Pepsi (I think I need the caffeine!) and feeling the need to write a blog post.

It's no secret I've been seriously lacking in all inspiration when it comes to makeup of late. It's a funny thing, the way it seems to come and go. Surely that's not normal?

Either way, for a little while I've been debating whether to post 'proper' blog posts on here as well. I feel so out of the loop when it comes to this beauty blogging thing now. I still want to do it, I love doing it but I just ... I can't explain it, especially not at this time of the morning. These would replace my Someday Summary's.

I'm willing to bet a lot of followers wouldn't like it, there's a poll in the sidebar. If you could vote on it I would be extremely grateful.

I've been doing this makeup for almost 2 years now (expect a post on that next week) and I feel like I'm not getting anywhere with it.

Time to switch it up slightly?

Let's go for it ...

I've recently found a new 'use' for those darn sponge tip applicators. I tried using the Sleek ones for a gradient nail but they're too 'unspongey' so they don't work. A few weeks ago I found Tilly had hooked one off my dressing table and was tossing it around the house and chomping on it.

Like her owner, she's very much easily amused and it's one of her current favourite things to play with.

After I had my nails done last week, I ventured into town purely for a Nero Frap, I'm not going to lie. I hate our town centre. It's full of ... Well nothing really.

I did manage to pick up a couple of Barry M Nail Paints though!

I haven't read anything for ages. So I picked up some books from work recently. I'm currently reading Michael McIntyre's autobiography. It's so funny. I usually hate reading autobiographies but it's actually really good. I still can't read them all in one go but if you like him I definitely recommend.

I also love Jodi Picoult. She's a really good writer and although she uses lots of words I don't quite understand, they're always really compelling reads and I hate putting them down.

Your daughter says she was raped.
But the man she's accused was her boyfriend.
What would you do?

I love how you get a quick summary of what the books based on without even having to flip it over.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through and it's getting to the exciting bits where you don't want to put it down!
