Rainbow Lucky Charms

Date Makeup.

So I'm off out in a few hours. And as the titles suggests, it is a date.

I don't think it'll go to well but that's just the pessimist in me shining through.

Since my skin is getting better I though I'd show you my visage of the day.

Illamasqua Matte Primer.
M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer - NW15.
M.A.C Studio Tint - Light.
M.A.C Studio Fix Powder - NW15.
M.A.C Impeccable Brow Pencil - Taupe.
M.A.C Powder Blush - Well Dressed.
M.A.C Magically Liquid Powder - Truth & Light (highlight).

Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Urban Decay Naked Palette Eyeshadows - Virgin (highlight), Sin (all over lid), Toasted (crease), Smog (outer V).
Illamasqua Precision Ink - Abyss.
M.A.C Zoom Lash.
Duo Dark lash Adhesive.
Sally's Eyelashes - 116.

M.A.C Lipstick - Pink Nouveau.

I knew what I wanted before I started and it came out just as I imagined.

This does wonders for my confidence. If I imagine something in my head but fail to execute it like I imagined I automatically write it off as terrible and it makes me feel bad.

I've got hours yet but this is why I did it so in advance, I was preparing for having to do it again.

I've been meaning to this post for ages.

Just wanted to show you some of the photos, as promised, from the shoot I did back at Easter with my friend Chris. (chrisdart.co.uk / theriot.tv). You should go check them out, although The Riot isn't finished yet, but they did film this cider advert. ;)

There is a ton of photos, I'm not going to upload them all but there's some more here that I haven't posted.

Skin and lashes are Clinique. I can't remember what exactly, models own, sorry!
I used a selection of shadows from my Naked palette with Bourbon 24/7 eye pencil along the upper lashline.
All topped off with a touch of Snob lippie from M.A.C.

It started off terrible, not going to lie. The model we had cancelled the night before but we managed to get a friend of Kat's (hair stylist) an hour or so before.

Almost didn't happen but I'm glad it did.

I was stressing beforehand that I would be terrible but I wasn't too bad. At least, I don't think I was. :) It's experience though!

And I'm glad we went to the beach we did. It's super pretty and local to me but I'd never been! Such a nice day.

A Sleepy Half Assed FOTD.

I haven't been to sleep yet but thought I'd show you my sleepy attempt at a FOTD.

I look pretty dead so let's just ignore that.

Selection of shadows from the Urban Decay Naked palette.

Revlon Colorburts - True Red.

Far too tired to list products used and I've not even started work yet. Today is going to be fun. If you want to know what anything is, ask.

Skincare Regime Overhaul.

It's no lie my skin has been atrocious over the past couple months, worse than it has been for years.

I'm not sure what's caused it but I know my skincare regime slipped because of the way I've been sleeping.

I can't take it any more so I spent a bunch of £s on trying to get in order.

Here's what I'm going to be using:

Just a few initial thoughts on the products, this isn't a review as I've only been using them for a few days.

Soap & Glory - Peaches & Clean - Makeup wipes have now been banished from my life. This is a light cleansing milk that can remove makeup. It has peach extract along with jojoba oil. It smells yummy and glides over the skin. This is the cleanser I use in the evening.

Lush - Breath Of Fresh Air Toner - I've been wanting to try Lush toners out for a little while now and this one seemed best suited to me. It reduces dryness, soreness and redness. Whilst softening the skin with aloe and feeding it with vitamins and minerals. Another plus is it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight. I just spray it on and let it soak in.

Lush - 9 To 5 Cleanser - Lush say this is a calming, cleansing lotion for clear skin. I use this in the morning, smooth it all over my face and wash off with a touch of water. It contains almond oil, fresh dove orchid extract and ylang ylang. It leaves my skin silky smooth after.

Soap & Glory - The Greatest Scrub Of All - This exfoliator is suitable for all skin types. S&G say this contains smooth-boost spheres that pop when you press on them. I'm guessing that would work when scrubbing. I've only ever used sand exfoliators and they were far too abrasive compared to this. It has a subtle minty fresh fragance.

Lush - Vanishing Cream - This is the only thing that isn't new to me. I use this under my primer as it's a light moisturiser that's easily absorbed. It helps minimise oil content and helps acne-prone skin. Contains rose, lavender and witch hazel. Smells amazing!

Lush - Skin Drink - According to Lush, dry skin drinks this up, hence the name. It's a best seller. I can see why, I woke up this morning to amazingly smooth skin and it was really hydrated. But and this is a big but (I like big buts and I cannot lie ...), it smells horrible. The first time I put it on my face I was dry heaving. Trust me, that is not a good look. It contains sesame oil, roses and avocado. The only way I can use this and be fine with it is by shoving a ton of solid perfume up my nostrils before covering my face in it, again not such a good look. I really cannot abide using skin care I don't like the smell of, anyone else? So this is going to be a test.

Soap & Glory - You Won't Believe Your Eyes - I don't really use eye creams but the other thing I wanted on the 3 for 2 was out of stock so I picked up this instead. It's got cucumber juice in it and 'amazing tired- eye moisture serum with instantight and puffease 360'. Who knows what that even means but it's a triple roller ball applicator and it's nice and cooling to the skin.

That's my little collection of things I'm hoping will clear up my skin.

If You Think I'm Coming Back, Don't Hold Your Breath.

♥ Remember how in my last update I mentioned I was using a Canon 450D at a BBQ?

Well I managed to get the photos. Since I don't have a any photos to update with this week, I thought I'd show you some of my favourites.

They weren't edited by me though. :)

I need this camera stat.

♥ I haven't been up to all that much this week, hence the lack of pictures. I only just got paid so I didn't have any money to do anything.

♥ I've been working a fair amount. I'm trialling for something new on Tuesday. I start at 6AM. That's real, not a typo. I usually lay right in on Tuesday because it's my day off, so getting up for that should be ... Interesting. Hopefully I enjoy it and go for it though. Not only would it make a change but the latest I finish is 10AM, so my days shall be free. :)

♥ I just ordered a lovely new watch. It should be here early next week. I only ordered it at about 8 on Friday night and it was already dispatched by Saturday lunch and the delivery was free! Shall definitely blog about that as soon as I get it.

♥ I haven't really been wearing makeup lately. My skin is atrocious and I have no idea why. I need to up my water intake and switch up my skin care. I love Lush so I'm going to go with that and some Soap & Glory bits and pieces. Hopefully that will sort it out because it's really depressing me. If you have any recommendations on things to clear up acne prone skin, do let me know.

♥ Summer dieting. It's no lie I'm not a stick but in summer I hate eating. I never eat breakfast as is it is, I go to work all day and usually don't eat till I get home. I don't eat all that much, just the wrong things. I won't be blogging about it too much or mention what it is I'm doing, I don't want it to affect people or have to give advice on it. I'm not sure that makes sense? It does to me .. Sort of.

But yeah, I know it's worked in the past so I don't mind doing it again.

♥ It is sad that I know I'd feel better if I was slim, society makes out like it's the only way to be but I can't help but feel like that. Especially when I get told I'd be pretty if I was skinny.

♥ Also going to start working out a little more, taking the dog out more (maybe) or just doing lots of window shopping. ;) After all that involves walking, right?

♥ Any Supernatural fans following me? I've only just got into it after stealing the first boxset off a friend. Not going to lie, I only wanted to watch it because Jensen Ackles is freaking beautiful! And of course, I had heard good things about it. I am loving it though and yes, partially down to how pleasing to the eye Dean is. ;)

Someone Call The Doctor, Cause I Lost My Mind.

I swear this isn't turning into a cat blog. I'm not a crazy cat lady just yet. But these two pictures are my current favourites.

The first is how I found them a couple of days ago. Twins!

The second is from my Dad's birthday at the end of last month. Little One wouldn't leave his plate alone. It seems she's quite partial to some cheesy pasta.

Last weekend when I was at a BBQ (you can see the look I wore here), I got a chance to play around with this baby. I was pretty much taking photos all night. Shame I don't have them at the moment, I need to try and get them.

I am so so in love with it! ♡ It's made me just want to save even more for it. Such an amazing camera.

What else have I been doing?

Watching a ton of Come Done With Me on 4OD. I have no idea why, most of the stuff they cook is disgusting but the narrator makes me laugh so much.

Reading on my Kindle - still. I'm onto Something From Tiffany's. It's been good so far and shall talk about it somewhat further when I've finished it.

I'm kind of lemming after the M.A.C Semi Precious face brushes. I don't own a good kabuki and the 179 is the same price as the permanent 182. Expensive but I may have to invest. Anyone bought any of these split fibre brushes. What do we think?

I found some super super cute ear plugs (for stretched ears) on Etsy earlier. There's only one left of the one I want, so hopefully it stays till I can get my hands on it next week. I've not seen anything like it! I shall be sure to post about it when I get them though.

Viva Glam GaGa has made me fall back in love with glosses again. It's been such a long time since I wore one I can't even remember when it was! Gonna wear VGG today with nothing else on the face since my eyes decided to water like mad, it honestly looked like I was balling my eyes out.

This One's For You, Ale!

It's been a little while since I looked at inspiration from the Queen B, purely because it felt weird. And alas, still doesn't seem real. If you don't know what I'm talking about click here.

On Saturday night I went to a BBQ as it was in the evening and I had some time to kill, I pulled out my Hello Kitty Too Dolly palette and decided to play with some colour. Since I don't wear eyeshadow in summer as it just melts straight off, this wasn't bad going.

I started with teal on the lead and then decided to try pink in the crease.

I rarely use pink as an eyeshadow but it started to turn into a look I've always loved and remembered from Ale's blog, Queen B Makeup.

Although it's not exactly the same, I was going off memory (which is rubbish) but here's what I came up with.

I had such a hard time photographing this look, I couldn't get the lighting right. Usually I wouldn't post but I was so happy with this you'll just have to suck it up. ;)

M.A.C Studio Tint - Light.
M.A.C Powder Blush - Well Dressed.
M.A.C Impeccable Brow Pencil - Taupe.

I didn't realise till sometime afterwards that I forgot to put concealer on!

Urban Decay Primer Potion.
M.A.C Eyeshadow - Yogurt (inner corner, brow highlight), Too Dolly* (all over lid), Romping* (crease), Stately Black* (just a touch to darken outer V).
Random deep pink and blue (a shade darker than Too Dolly) from the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer palette, just to add depth and definition.
Collection 2000 Glam Crystals - Le Freak (upper lashline).
Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil - Electric (lower lashline).
M.A.C Zoom Lash.

M.A.C Lipstick - Viva Glam GaGa*.

* Limited edition.

Although they don't look at all similar, it's where I eventually pulled my inspiration from.

I got a bunch of compliments and it lasted all night without sliding off!

Partial To Neons: Une Partie Deux.

After part one a week or so ago, I finally added something else to my collection.

I've been lemming this since I got my first Paul's Boutique bag at Christmas. I needed something a little more 'everyday'. I know a lot of people don't like PB and there's a lot of the bags I really don't like. But I don't want a leather bag (watch Kill It, Cut It, Use It on BBC3, it'll put you off forever) and these are animal friendly so perfect, just what I need.

My new love, the Large Maisy in Neon Pink, which is much more neon in person.

I found this on the inside and wondered why there was a padlock just hanging there. With a bit of fiddling I realised what it was for ...

When it was inside the bag and I noticed the underneath I thought to myself, I'd just stick the padlock from the charm underneath to see if it undid and voilĂ ! I can now lock my bag, which shall be extremely useful when I'm travelling especially now I have a Kindle. Without the worry of someone delving on in there and helping themselves.

This colour isn't for the shy or faint hearted but I love it. It's quite flat which means it lies closer to the body instead of sticking out awkwardly. It's also somewhat like a tardis. It fits so much in it!

Are you a fan of statement bags? Or do you prefer understated? Let me know your thoughts on anything bag related in the comments below!
