Make A Wish/Glossybox - December.

Some of you might remember back along The Fairy Hobmother from Appliances Online was doing the rounds on blog posts. Well she came and visited me this week and now she's giving you a chance to have your Christmas wishes granted.

I finally have Decembers Christmas Glossybox* to show you, though I'm sure you've already seen it a thousand times over this week. I had to show you because it's a cracker (pun not intended) and I really love it!

Instead of the regular pale pink and black box, it comes in a bright festive red with white snowflakes all over the inside.


Rituals Foaming Shower Gel
A wonderful full sized product. I've never used a foaming shower gel before so it was a new experience for me. I pumped a little out onto my hand and when I started lathering it in, it foamed up a lot and I really mean a lot.

It's very lightly scented Indian rose and sweet almond oil, not too overpowering. It leaves my skin soft and smooth. A truly lovely product.

Nouveau Lashes Noir Mascara
A quick drying flake free formula. I have to agree with this. I popped it on at 5AM this morning and a few hours later I was rubbing my eyes without thinking about it. Did it flake off? Not one bit.

Apparently it helps with volume too but I didn't see much of that this morning but that was only from one coat.


FAB (First Aid Beauty) Face Cleanser
This seems wonderful on first inspection. It's free of all sorts of rubbish. It's not even scented which is something that puts me off it smells horrible. I'm looking at you Lush Skin Drink!

The amount of stress lately has taken it's toll on my face so I need to be really strict with my skin care and I need to stop touching my face.

This brand is readily available in Boots. I'm hopeful that I will finally find something that does some good for my skin.

Deborah Lippmann Mini Nail Varnish - Razzle Dazzle with Stripped To Go Sachet
I've always admired Deborah Lippmann from a far. The glitters are wonderful, especially since there is one named Bad Romance. But the chunky glitters, the thought of the removal scares me.

I since found out that the company is completely vegan which surprised me but I still think it's too expensive for me to be dipping my toes in just yet. Polishes range from £14 - £18.

The Stripper To Go is something I won't be using. I can't use acetone on my nails as I have a gel overlay over the top of my natural nails to keep them from breaking.

Though I will say, £14 for 6 one use remover 'mitts' seems a bit steep to me. When you can pick up some pure acetone for less than a fiver and it removes glitter polishes swiftly.

Cargo Cosmetics Classic Lip Gloss - Tokyo
A non sticky lightweight lipgloss. It's very sheer, gives my lips just a hint of colour and the old MLBB.

I haven't truly tested it's staying power but my going on the fact it's not at all sticky, I shouldn't imagine it would last too long on the lips.

Illamasqua, You're Doing It Right.

Whilst we're on the subject of customer service, I would like to commend Illamasqua for having amazing, amazing service.

I received a beautiful Christmas card in the post this morning. Completely surprised by it. I am loving the eye makeup in the image.


Illamasqua never fail to amaze with the extra mile they go to for their customers. Wonderful brand and I've been really glad I got more into them this year, especially since they're a British brand.

I look forward to trying more from them next year!

I thought I'd post again and leave today on a good point. :)

Want The Look Update.

Since my last post I'd heard nothing back from WTL.

I decided to keep a little log of things for future reference and to help you understand why I'd advice against using them.


Friday December 16 12.31PM:

Once again I have to call them up to question them on the whereabouts of my parcel.

They still don't know and aren't getting anything from Royal Mail Business Support.

It doesn't look like I'll be getting this order any time soon. And it's looks as though they're doing everything to not give me a straight up refund and dodge around the subject.

Friday December 16 1.01PM:

I get a call back from the girl who's been trying to sort it out for, informing me that she's tracked it down and she assured me it's definitely being redelivered this afternoon. To the right address.

Let's see how this pans out.

Friday December 16 evening:

Why am I not surprised? Not a single show from Royal Mail. I understand that it's a busy period but this is a joke.

Friday December 16 Really, really late evening:

It finally shows up at gone 8PM. If that's classed as afternoon ...


Am I happy with the products? Of course but that isn't down to the company.

Would I recommend using WTL? Most certainly not. 2 weeks later and my parcel shows up after paying for 2 day delivery. Absolutely disgusting service since I was never offered any kind of refund on the shipping charge.

I understand that Royal Mail is half to blame here but the fact I was having to call premium numbers most days to find out where it was, has in fact made this product more expensive than what I originally thought.

Next time I will be buying my Bed Head directly from the hair dressers. Or from Look Fantastic/Feel Unique. Both websites of which I've never had a problem. I'll gladly pay that little bit extra for a product and get brilliant customer service from it.

This was my first experience with something going missing and it stressed me out. Which people failed to understand. My money was taken but I was left without any products to show for it. How would that make you feel? 

I sincerely hope it doesn't happen to me again any time soon. Fingers crossed.

I really hope these last couple of posts have helped some of you, even if it's just a few I'll be happy, to not make the same mistake I did.

Want The Look(.com)? Hell No I Don't!

I wasn't planning on coming back just yet but I feel I need to let my followers know my experience with http://wantthelook.com.

2 weeks ago I had my hair cut off mega short. Click to see. My lovely hairdresser used the new TIGI Bed Head Candy Fixation Mega Whip Marshmallow. It smells divine and I would have bought it from the hairdressers then, only it was sold out as it's been super popular.

I then took to Twitter to ask for places I could find Bed Head at a cheaper price, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic etc. Someone suggest Want The Look to me. As it was cheapest there, I popped a hair spray from the same range in my basket too and checked out.

Knowing I needed it pronto, I opted for 2 day tracked delivery.

Order placed - December 3.
Estimated delivery - December 6.


I opened up a PayPal dispute as I'd had no dispatch email and heard no replies from emails.

So I waited as patiently as I could. And I waited. Wednesday (December 7) rolled around and still nothing so I called them up with every intention of cancelling my order. Why I let them talk me into keeping it, I don't know.

They informed me that they let me order something that was out of stock, hence the no dispatch yet but failed to tell me and let me pay for premium delivery anyway. They told me they'd just got the Mega Whip in so did I still want it?

I quickly mulled over the fact I would have to wait for a refund, order somewhere else and wait again for it to be delivered so went ahead and said yes I did want it. But they were still charging me the premium delivery fee. I personally think as a good gesture of not informing me my parcel wasn't being dispatched, I shouldn't have had to pay this.

Order dispatched - December 7.
Estimated delivery - December 9.


So I closed the PayPal dispute as it was finally being dispatched, I was actually going to get it this time!

My Mum was home all morning Friday and then I came home and waited in all day. Someone was at that house all day.

Still nothing.

Monday (December 12) rolls around and I call them again, to question them on the whereabouts of my order. They inform me Royal Mail tried to deliver it on Friday.

Like I said, I was at home all of Friday. There was no card left so I was unable to pick it up. If it wasn't able to be delivered, why was no card left?

So they gave me the tracking number as I hadn't received it and I initially rang up the Royal Mail to arrange a redeliver. I soon gave up when the service was just taking me through at least 11 automated menus and I still wasn't getting anywhere.

So I went online and did it that way.

I changed the delivery address (which you're allowed to do) as I was at my Dad's house this week.

Estimated delivery - December 14.

So he waited in till I got home from work. I waited and waited. Still nothing, so once again I called them up.

I was informed it had been attempted to delivery to 46 (original house number) street name (of the second email). A mixture of both addresses?!

But no one was in so it was once again at the sorting office and I was without a card. The girl I spoke to called Royal Mail customer service to ask what I should do as I didn't want to wait another 3 days for a redeliver.

She called me back and told me to go down to my sorting office with ID and I should have no problems getting it as it should be there.

Off I went and explained the entire cock up that they've made. I waited and I waited and I fricking waited for the woman to look for my parcel.

She then informed me it hadn't been bought back.

But it wasn't delivered, so where the eff is it? Out I stormed, came home, slept, worked.

In the middle of my split shift today I called up the girl and told her what had happened yesterday. She asked me where it was?! Because I would know, right? I'm just doing this for shits and giggles really.

She was extremely short with me and told me she'd ring the customer service once again to see what to do. She never said she was going to call me back or make any form of contact to get back in touch with me.

So I was left feeling thoroughly annoyed.

I finished work at 6 and came home to call them once again, only to find they shut up offices at 5. Wonderful.

I tried to open a dispute on PayPal but alas, as I've already done it, it's not letting me do another one.

I tried calling their customer service, only to be speaking to a robot the entire time and finding noway to speak to an actual person.

This is getting beyond a joke now. 

December 3 I ordered on 2 day delivery, it's now December 15 and still nothing.

I am disgusted by the lack of service from WTL. I'm having to call them to find out anything about this and I honestly have a feeling I will never see this parcel or my money back.

I'm now over £20 down and empty handed.

I honestly have no idea what to do now. It feels like I'm bashing my head against a wall.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? How did it sort itself out?

Did you manage to get your parcel/refund in the end?

I'm half tempted to just give up and forget about it but that's just too easy, isn't it?
