Every now and then something comes along that us bloggers go a bit crazy for. During the Summer Illamasqua released a range of 7 nude additions to their Glamore lipstick lineup.
With a range of colours, you're sure to find one that suits the kind of nude you like and compliments your skin tone.
There are 3 colour categories that the lipsticks fall into. First up we have the coral nudes. Minx - warm rose and Cherub - warm coral. Next we have the rosy nudes. Rosepout - neutral pink brown and Starkers - a soft flesh pink. Last but by no means least we have the earth rose nudes. Tease - pink beige, Naked - creamy nude and Buff - fudge brown.
What www.illamasqua.com says:
The perfect nude lipstick is a make-up bag necessity. Glamore Lipstick in Naked is a colour intense nude lipstick with a long lasting satin finish. Ideal for a more hydrated comfort finish. Don't cover your beauty - go nude and let it show!
While Glamore Nudes will suit every skin tone, if you need a little guidance, try our nude shade selector and find out how to look good in the nude.
Usually, being so pale, I'd go for the lightest nude they have. But since I have quite a few in my collection I thought I'd opt for something a little more out of my comfort zone, so to speak. I know these sorts of colours are quite safe for some people but I generally prefer a bolder lip colour.
I've had quite a few Illamasqua lipsticks in the past and never quite been able to get on with them. They're very matte, more so than any other matte lipstick that I've tried. With that in mind, your lips have to be in tip top condition and you need to put a little more work into the application as they're quite dry.
This was my first delve into the not so new Glamore formula. A satin finish that still packs a punch as far as pigment and longevity is concerned. Being that Illamasqua describe it as a satin, I was quite expecting it to be similar in finish to that of M.A.C. Boy, was I wrong!
The Glamore finish glides over the lips easily, without any effort at all. Leaving full coverage behind on just the first swipe. They're not at all drying so they're easy to apply and they feel extremely comfortable on the lips.
It wears for a number of hours (I haven't counted but I know it's a fair amount of time, sorry!). After a little while the glossiness simmers down to a more matte/satin finish but still isn't at all drying or uncomfortable. I find it only starts to wear off in the middle of the lips through eating and drinking. But it stays put when not doing so.
I really love this lipstick. The shade is not the usual one I'd go for but it's a 'my lips but better' shade and I really do adore it for those days where I don't want a lot of heavy looking makeup.
I'm a total convert to the Illamasqua Glamore formula, which is making me eye up a couple of other shades. Hopefully they release some more daring colours with this finish.
