It's been a little while since I paid a visit to Lush. But since I had 5 empty black pots, I figured it was time to trade it in for my free face mask. I was in two minds about what to get. It was between Cupcake and Cosmetic Warrior. Since they were sold out of Cupcake, Cosmetic Warrior was the one I opted for.
Let me start off by saying that you shouldn't let the smell put you off. When I smelt it in the shop, all I could smell was the garlic and it kind of put me off. But all the skin benefits for acne prone skin made me decide to get it. When I put it on the scent I smell most is the tea tree. It's only when it's dried and I wash it off that the garlic scent comes back.
This face mask is packed full of ingredients that are really great for the skin. One of the main ingredients is fresh green grapes (yum!). Grapes have a ton of skin benefits including degreasing skin without stripping it of moisture, lightening scars and helping with uneven skin tones.
Next up we have fresh organic free range eggs. The natural vitamin A helps with regulating sebum production, helping to maintain healthy skin. They really nourish the skin.
Honey is a natural antiseptic for the skin and it's suitable for delicate skin. Lush use honey in place of synthetic preservatives.
Fresh garlic is an antiseptic and helps with spots by deep cleansing and reducing redness in the skin.
Tea tree oil helps to keep skin blemish free.
After cleansing, I apply the mask all over and usually end up getting distracted and watching lots of YouTube videos, so I nearly always leave it on for more than 10 minutes. Then I wash it off with hot water and a face cloth, following with my usually tone and moisturising routine.
I love how this makes my skin feel after using it. It eliminates any grease or shiny areas I tend to get on my t zone, without drying my skin out. My skin still feels smooth and hydrated. It also helps calm any redness from spots and helps clear them up. It's getting close to that time of the month and usually I have an outbreak of spots that end up being really painful. But I currently don't have a single spot, just lots of acne scarring.
I couldn't be happier with how this mask has transformed my skin. I've just finished up the last of it and I'll definitely be repurchasing. If you have problematic skin, give this a go!
