Glossybox - April.

I'm a little later than usual in posting this Glossybox review. I kept meaning to get swatches but I found myself preoccupied with other things. I debated not posting about it but here I am!

April brings us the 'iconic edit' box*.

POP Beauty - Kajal Eyeliner Pen - Sooty Black
£6.50 / 0.9g
I didn't swatch this as I'm sure most people are aware of what black eyeliners look like. This is a grey black. It's not as dark as I'd like but its great if you don't like to go too heavy on the eyes but like a darker smoky look.
The smudger on the opposite end blends the product out easily. I do find it's not as long lasting as the formula seems to move about easily. I prefer something a little more permanent.

Lord & Berry - Lipstick Pencil - Kiss
I always favour blue based reds. Having a cool skin tone I find they just look a lot better on me. Kiss is a classic red with a strong orange undertone to it. I found the pencil applicator a little bit of a faff. I usually don't have much trouble so I'm wondering if it's the formula.
Regardless, it's matte and lasts for a good while. Leaving behind a slight stain once worn away but it can get a little uncomfortably drying.

Nougat London - Soothing Bath Pearls
£6 / 35ml
I can't remember the last time I opted for a bath. I love indulging in them but I generally go for a shower just because it's quick. These bath pearls don't really appeal to me. But they're said to be delicately fragranced and leave your skin with a very subtle shimmer. Something which I feel some people may dislike. I'm all for glitter personally.

Color Club - Nail Polish - Barely There
£4.10 / 15ml
This shade is part of this years spring 'Shift Into Neutral' collection. For the longest time I've been searching for the perfect nude polish, also known as 'mannequin hands'.
Barely There is perfect for this. I've even managed to wear it to work without a single person noticing. It just blends into my skin tone.

Darphin - Exquisage Beauty Revealing Cream
£65 / 50ml
Let's start off by getting the obvious out of the way. This face cream is crazy expensive so with such a small sample it's hard to get a feel for if it truly works. I believe this aimed at more mature skin as it claims to soften lines and wrinkles due to its probiotics. Leaving your skin protected and nourished.

It seems that a lot of people were unhappy with this months selection of products. I think this was due to an Astral moisturising being included. It's a very cheap brand that you can find in most supermarkets for just a couple of pounds. If I had recieved this, I probably wouldn't be very happy either.

Regardless of that, I don't think the theme was carried through to the contents of the box. Rather just how it was packaged. The contents were quite varied, my favourite being the nail polish. I can see me getting a lot of use out of that one.

I'm hoping next months pickings will be a little better and if it has a theme, that it continues throughout both the contents and the packaging.
