Flamingo Candles The Melt Crowd - August.

It's pretty well documented that I absolutely love candles. I generally stick with Yankee but since their price increases I've been looking at other options.

I don't remember which blog I saw it on but I was catching up on my subscriptions and came across a post about this subscription box. It's a bit of a twist on the regular monthly boxes so I signed up and awaited my first delivery.

So what scents do we have to try out for August?

I think the one most people are excited about is the preview of Circus Doughnuts. It smells just like hot, sugar coated doughnuts. Brings back of memories of being at the fun fair as a teen.

Pomegranate Cider is a summery fruit fragrance, with a hint of vanilla that isn't overly sweet.

Fresh Cotton is a box exclusive, which is a shame as it's so lovely. It reminds me of curling up in fresh bed linen or big fluffy dressing gowns.

Strawberries and Champagne reminds me so much of the Creamy Candy bubble bar from Lush.

Kir Royale is from their new cocktail inspired collection. I don't mean to use another Lush example but this is the Comforter. It has a lovely rich crème de cassis scent which is quite frankly, comforting - for lack of a better word.

Green Apples threw me off a little as it's a red melt in a green wrapping. At first I thought it had been packed wrong but nope. It's crisp and refreshing with hints of lemon.

Dahlia is the other box exclusive. I generally favour fruit and foody scents but this smells quite floral to me. It's slightly sweetened without being too overpowering.

Ginger and Lime is not something I expect to like but I can't stop sniffing it. It's very citrusy but the ginger gives it warmth. The scent reminds me of something so much but I can't put my finger on what it is.

A little bit about the box. You get 8 melts through your letterbox each month. Each with an average burn time of 30 hours. It will contain old favourites, current scents, previews of upcoming releases and scents exclusive to The Melt Crowd box.

Your first box will come with a wax burner to get you going at no extra charge. You will need to be in for this delivery but any boxes after that are small enough to fit through the letterbox.

The box is priced at £10 but the contents and delivery is almost £20 in retail value. The melts individually are £2 each so you're getting a total bargain.

All boxes get sent out on the very first of the month so if you want to sign up, you need to do so before the new month starts.

I absolutely cannot wait to get stuck in to these. When the postman handed me the box I was hit straight away with the delicious scent coming from inside. These melts are have a powerful throw and I've not even started burning them.

If you love candles and you're looking for something different through your letterbox each month, definitely check this out.
