Flamingo Candles The Melt Crowd - February.

I'm sure I say this in each review but I always look forward to this little subscription box landing on  my doormat each month. I adore having a new selection of melts to burn through.

There's nothing more relaxing than winding down with a candle going in the background, along with a delicious scent to go with it.

Kir Royale - I've been getting this subscription for 7 months now and this is my first repeat melt. From their cocktail range it comes with a strong cassis scent, very reminiscent of The Comforter from Lush.

Circus Cherry Slush - I love anything cherry scented and this doesn't disappoint. It's sweet, fruity and one of my favourites and the first I opted to burn.

Acai Berry - This is a really interesting scent as I've no idea what acai berries smell like. It's got a rich depth to it whilst still remaining fruity, without being overly sweet.

Pink Lemonade - Containing a mixture of strawberry sweetness, citrusy lemon, mixed up with a champagne fizz and finished off with an extra sprinkling of sugar. The perfect combination of both sweet and citrus scents.

Espresso - Reminds me of coffee centred chocolates. It's not like the kind of fresh coffee scent you get when you go into a coffee shop, it has a more sweet edge to it.

Bamboo & White Grapefruit - Anything with grapefruit tends to bring a light, refreshing fragrance and this is no different. It reminds of the perfect spring/summer you'd want to spritz all over yourself.

Rose - I'm not the biggest fan of rose scented things but this doesn't seem all that overpowering.

Love Bug - Perfect for Valentine's as the melt is shaped into two hearts. It's a blend of mandarin and petitgrain which is distilled from the bark of orange trees. With a slight finish of cinnamon giving it added warmth.

Winter Blues.

I don't think it's just me that will agree on the fact that colder weather is kind of sucky. The lack of daylight makes me not want to get up of a morning and leaves me feeling drained by early evening. Along with all the nasty bugs that get passed around, especially working in a retail environment.

Towards the end of last year I was really unwell. I won't bore you with the details but during that time I was left to think about my little piece of the internet, the one thing I'm really and truly proud of. Even if it's just a drop in the ocean compared to others and their achievements.

I start blogging again come the new year and I was really enjoying it. I had so many ideas floating around in my head and for the first time in ages I truly fell in love with writing again. Though I work a full time job that can often take a lot out of me, I was back doing something I loved. Even the frantic scheduling the night before when I realised I didn't have a post ready to go live the next morning.

It was all going wonderfully until I was struck down with a sickness bug. I had to take a little time off work, which I mostly spent sleeping and trying to keep food down. Since then I've been stuck in such a funk that I can't seem to get out of. I've been struggling to get back on top of things and carry on as before.

There's something about the longer, lighter, drawn out days that just help with feeling more motivated. With just a little over a month until the first day of spring, I can't say I'm not relishing the opportunity for more hours of daylight.

And so I thought I would ease myself back into writing with this little update post. I write this after having the most wonderful Valentine's (the first I've ever had) and life is being really rather kind to me.
