Following on from Monday's post exhibiting my love for all things iridescent, I thought I'd post up another new addition that I've recently got and it's perfect for the warmer weather.

For a number of months now S'well bottles have been on my radar, especially their Galaxy collection. Hello, duochromes! As pretty as they are I just can't bring myself to spend the best part of £40 on a bottle. I can think of far better things to buy!

You know how Amazon does that creepy stalkerish thing where it recommends you things that you've looked at on other websites? Yeah, that! Well, it was suggesting a bunch of S'well looking bottles for a quarter of the price. I thought I'd have a look and see what colours they come in and low and behold there was one made for me.

So what makes this bottle so special besides the rainbow shell? The bottle comes with double-walled vacuum insulated technology and a vacuum seal cap which keeps drinks cold for up to 24 and hot for up to 12. It's made entirely from high-quality food grade stainless steel so its durable, leak proof and won't rust.

Due to the double-walled feature, the bottle is a little bigger than perhaps an ordinary plastic bottle but that's to be expected. The bottle has a capacity of 500ml, which doesn't last me long as I drink so much but it's enough to keep you going for a little while.

I was somewhat sceptical about whether it would actually stay cold especially in hot weather. One of my goals every year is to drink more water but I don't like it at the best of times, even more so when it isn't icy cold. The first time I tried it I filled it from the tap and then refrigerated it. The water was cold but I think due to the double wall, it stopped the cold from infiltrating the bottle so much and didn't leave it as cold as I would like. The second time I used it I filled it up from the water machine at work that always has ice cold water, just how I like it! I found it worked much better if you fill it with something that's already cold. So does it last? Absolutely! I was genuinely surprised, especially as it's a cheaper version of the branded ones.

I haven't tried it with hot drinks but I'm sure it will work just as well.

As for the colour, it's so me! There was this iridescent purple option, silver, rose gold or just plain old regular gold. But you can find all sorts of different colours on Amazon. For the price it's such a bargain, it helps with doing that little bit extra to reduce environmental waste and really helps me to consume more water.
